Wow, sounds like a Cup car and revs to 9K...can't wait to hear it sing at VIR.
Regarding the rear wing, does it have active-aero (a pop-up Gurney flap)? https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-g...cir2.jpg?gl=US https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-I...cir3.jpg?gl=US "The rear wing is fixed and adjustable, just like the current GT cars" "Nothing looks electronic or automatic" I see a different center air scoop and therefore probably a different air-box / intake. |
The best outcome is that the 991 GT3 is awesome, but different enough that previous generation GT cars retain or accrue value. Given the leaks and tone in these threads I think this could be true. We should all be happy. :)

No manual is a shame. Why mount the PDK-S in the center console? Why not just go with paddles behind the steering wheel a la Ferrari system?

Thank you to the Rennlister for sharing
I'll wait for the new engine and PDK to be proven and a manual. Im not ready for a PDK as fast and genius as it may be. 9K RPM is great if it holds up. Not sure I want to be a first taker, even with manual. The wing does not look so great in these pics, but we will see when the glamour shots arrive. The good: -Fast -Bigger brakes are always good -Wide body because that means the RS will be different in other ways. Manual? -PDCC, no PTV *at least not in this car |

Finally real "spy" photos and not some marketing exercise. Well done and thanks to the spy

9k redline- damn!
Regarding the engine (in my opinion the big/good news here, today) The dialogue with the engineer went like this: -Is this a DFi 9A1 engine? -No! It's a new motorsport engine that will go into the race cars. Just to be on the safe side, I have to add that regarding the dry sump, they didn't talk about it directly. OTOH, I can't imagine a Porsche engine homologated for racing without one or without something equivalently efficient. |
Thank you for posting.
Not sure about thos 20" rims but I am digging the rest. |

good news if the engine really is a new motorsport engine .. of course, it's not been raced yet, so it's not really motorsport engine :)

911SLOW;10233425]As real as it gets, and I also have a video now. The engine sounds superb! Not sure if I can/should post it though..we will see.:typing: |

It has paddles. You PlayStation aficionados need not to worry. :D

Thx for the info. At last we have some real news, pics. Please share the video--- dying to see, hear.

Dunlop sport max, anyone run these?
|
In general, better news than I anticipated. At least the motor is legit and spins to high heaven. I'm fine with stock 20's and PDK, it'll be funny to have to 'downsize' to 19" track wheels...sounds like 18" are out of the question if the calipers are as big as stated.
|
Everything looks incredible.
Excpet for the twenties. Please offer a "track package" with 19s or 18s. |
I'm sure it will be fast. Will wait to see what they do with the RS
