There aren't any must-have options, imo...

Even Euro Delivery (only option I wouldn't miss) is free now.

Whoa. AP left the door open for a manual in the RS.

I agree, but you know how the dealers and ballers will mark all the boxes for walrus ***** leather.

With options: $141K and that includes axle lift. If one could do without that (I can't) it would be easy to option a car in the 130's.

I like seeing AP's confidence in the article about the steering. It'll be fun to see if those who have been complaining about "video game" steering for months can be proven wrong.

The steering argument has been pretty much dead. Even auto journalists that were voicing their concerns loudest about the new steering have gone silent after test driving the 991.
I've found the 991 steering pretty good, not much different than past generations.
I'm sure the 991 GT3 steering will provide even more feedback due to the more aggressive suspension set-up.
I'm not too optimistic about the new PDK in terms of involvement...and I suspect they are concerned about that too, otherwise they wouldn't have left any '' door '' in their speech for a manual...

The base price of the car is 130,400. Hardly any option ordered and you get Euro delivery free?

FWIW, I checked with my dealer and they will not charge over MSRP. It would have been a deal breaker for me if they wanted to charge more than MSRP. Also, they only have 7 on their list. it is a fairly large dealership and their allocations will be substantially more than 7.

Seems like a great deal, until you realize that every other manufacturer with this program offers large discounts (BMW, Audi, M-B, Saab, Volvo, etc.). Most give around 7% discount and some other free travel benefits (Volvo gives free airfare and luxury hotel).

However, I'm not complaining since just last year Porsche charged thousands extra (so no discount sounds pretty nice relative to that)...

Agree with AP's comments re: PDK. Boring as all get out - right to auto after a few shifts.

Let's hope the RS offers a manual and loses the fat.

An immediate 40kg savings with the manual.

But somewhere else PDK was confirmed for the RS. Can't remember offhand though where I read that.

I have been hearing both stories simultaneously for months (PDK only for RS and maybe Manual option for RS). I think if the GT3 sells poorly (doubtful), they'll consider Manual for RS. If the buyers and press respond favorably to the PDK in GT3, then there will be no Manual RS.

BTW, there is still going to be some sort of 50th Anniversary model (possibly with GT3 motor, fancy interior, retro ducktail spoiler, and priced above GT3) - I bet that has Manual...
