Now that was painful to watch. Looks like the Porsche driver will have an expensive bill to pay.

How would typical US track day insurance work out in this situation? Assuming only one of the drivers had insurance.

Interesting question.

When I talked with my insurance agent I was told that usually the documents you sign at the beginning of the track day remove liability from someone else hitting you. Basically, if you want to be covered you need to insure your own vehicle. Of course it all probably depends on what those documents actually say.

I would be curious to know if what I was told is correct from those more experienced with track days than me.

Interesting that a modest impact would pop the Pagani's door open.

That looks like the first chicane at Monza at the end of the front straight. A 2RS must be 170+ going into the braking zone.

My car takes harder impacts than that in the Target parking lot, and the door doesn’t pop open.

To be honest, I drive just like the Porsche owner does on Forza.

hittor should pay hitee's repair bill, no?

or did Pagani intentionally or not close the door on RS?

Did the event require point-bys to pass?

Such a speed differential between the two cars you have to wonder WTF

Everyone ok, it was test driver and company mule, and door performed as expected. She's had a nice long life and will be repaired.

It's the Porsche driver we feel badly for

opentrack.com annual policy allows a premium to cover millions of dollars . A little over 3% of the agreed value you want to use. It comes with a 10% deductible . As far as I know; They are the only ones that will allow additional coverage for liability . $1,000 premium to cover damages to others for something that you were responsible for ($1 million coverage ).

one of the organizers I track with in California (trackmasters racing ) has specific language that one is responsible for damages to another participants car if you are at fault .

other track organizers waivers have standard language that at first read it would seem that you are indemnifying everyone . However , careful reading of those indemnities shoes that you are indemnifying the track , track organizers and anyone associated with the organizers . It doesn’t seem that you are indemnifying any of the other participants .
