Advice needed: I’m on the fence on trading my 997.2 Turbo S for a 991.1 GT3

This is a very hard decision since my turbo s is a special edition. Also, I’m a little concerned about the 991.1 engine reliability. Any last minute advice for me? Thanks in advance.

991.1 gt3 axle lift, no buckets, no pccb

918 edition turbo s

Just do it. The 991.2 is the ultimate 4 liter flat six through! There is nothing like!

Keep turbo S IMHO.

It’s a 3.8(991.1) not sure if I should give up a special edition for it...

Context here - I was 52/48 on trading my 991.2 TT for 991.2 GT3. It was damn close. PCCB in the GT3 tipped the scales for me, along with 4.0 liter.

The 991.1 doesn’t have that ! I’d be really careful here...and no Apple CarPlay in the 991.1 either. And no Bose?

Good point. I have pccb and Bose in my turbo s.

Thanks. What’s your reasoning?

Yes

Very different cars.
Drive both and the answer will be apparent.

I kept both. There’s little overlap. The Edition Spyder is one of only 47 cars built and is the best and last of the 997.2 series.

That’s really cool. I didn’t know that. Are there any docs to prove rarity.

Thanks.. which do you prefer driving?

They are both great but very different. Agree with dr bill...drive the GT3 and you will know.

The 991 platform is amazing...and the GT cars are really special.

If a daily driver I would keep the turbo s, but if not a driver I would get a 991.2 with the better motor. Many will say extra warranty, but I would still take the new motor/updated car. Also if you live the torque you loose that in the GT car. Good luck, but either are not bad choices depends on your preference.

It was a limited production run as the 997 platform transitioned to 991 and the 918 buyers were slow to order out of the gate. The number of cars produced was published in Car and Driver at the time and is corroborated by the screenshot (46 vehicles).

The coupe looks better than the cab, which I have, but the latter is more fun in the sun. It’s a great car and a keeper.
