Unfortunately, it is pricing a lot of good people out of the sport.

Hence we need to support the GT4 platform and the guys doing that. It's easy to forget that a GT3 budget at 2.5-3.0x GT4 doesn't bring 2.5x the fun.

The sport needs to be inclusive and I'm real glad there continues to be the right series/platforms for a wide segment of us all!!

Have spent a decent bit of time in the 718CS this year and am hoping to try my hand at a 2RS clubsport at some point. I think the whole "Clubsport" philosophy is on point with the drastically lowered running costs vs the GT3/Cup cars. Curious to hear the feedback from the drivers post SPA

Actually, it is too bad they did not produce more of these cars. It would be a good series and the whole CS concept is a good one for the average Club Racer. The running costs for the Cup Cars has come down a bit but still quite high when you consider Motor and gearbox refresh. Who knows...this may be the shape of things to come!

Default gt2rs-clubsport-vs-991-2 Cup car

There she sits in all her glory waiting to be unveiled and shipped to Atlanta for prep!! This car will be awesome for sure! Sad not more we’re made!! Looking forward to see how it stacks up again the 991.2 Cup. This is revenge for the street car on street tires!

Agree w this. Why not do a GT3RS Clubsport? Lower entry price, build as many as people want. I'd be a buyer.

I really enjoyed the original test and video - I did note that the RS was on Trofeo R which is quite a dated crossover tire and only delivers marginal improvements in lap times over the Cup 2 N1 and only marginally different to N2s.

On race slicks I'll put money on the 2RS and as others have said it would be interesting to run a 3RS on slicks as well (as in real slicks). Anyhow, looking forward to the comparo . In fact this is what I'd like to see

II GT3 RS on Cup2 R (lets call it street car on peak cross over rubber)
GT2 RS on Cup2 R (again street car on peak cross over rubber)
GT2 RS on slicks (as in race slicks)
GT2 RS clubsport (race slicks)
991 Cup (race slicks)

This would be made all the more interesting if the comparo looked at a one lap sprint and a 10 lap run -

It would also be great to look at the sprint lap performance charts e.g. Distance Vs speed with delta t analysis and basics such as friction circles for each lap plus yaw rates though the corners.

I am sure you were just listing the cars in order of wanting to see the lap time comparison, but the GT2RS CS and the 991 Cup both come standard with DH slicks. The GT3RS and the GT2RS can be fitted with 18" wheels, minus any Carbon Ceramic Brakes and retro-fitted with Porsche Cup Car steel brakes and then have the benefit of the same DH slicks the race cars are fitted. Adding 3-way adjustable shocks to the street cars would further the track ability, but then you start adding up the costs and you see why the GT2RS CS was built.

Well you have to give Porsche some props, they are the ONLY Manufacturer that has such a broad Motorsport product line........so many options, no one comes close!
Plus there are so many places to race all these car (less the RSR).....
-Cayman Clubsport
-Cup Car
-MR Cup Car
-GT2RS CS
-991 GT3R
-RSR if you have the means! :-)
