I just got my GT2RS Side Skirts and 991.2 GT3RS Side Intakes yesterday and decided to give it a shot and install it myself. The install took 15 minutes and was so easy. I cant anymore as I have already installed them but its very easy to do. You have to reach in and feel the ends of the stock intake and just grab from both sides and pull towards the front of the car. It pops right off.
Glad I came across this thread, as I am in the process of speccing my gen2 and personally prefer the air intake on the gen1. Unless there is a big difference in airflow and therefore performance, I will install the intakes from the gen1.
Shows how we all have slightly different tastes despite liking the same cars.. :-)
I despise the artificial strakes on the rear air intake of my .2 RS. Especially considering that AP said that they were done solely for cosmetic reasons and not for any performance reason. So even he doesn't like them.
