Earthquake Car Protection
For those who felt the shocks in socal, how are you protecting your garaged cars from hitting the door or other cars? Does it make sense to set the parking brake? anything else?

I'm not an expert but have seen plenty of videos. If the ground shakes enough to actually move a vehicle so that it hits something next to it you are completely f'd....the cars are the least of your problems

Your biggest concern is things falling on the car. Make sure everything is secured and cabinet doors are locked. Basic common sense. I grew up in SoCal and lived through many quakes and had the ‘good fortune’ of being in the San Francisco quake. When you’re in one like that, the least of your concerns is your car.

yeah when we actually got hit with something big, the car is prob your least concern haha. It's covered by comprehensive car insurance so no worries. I worry more about the house collapsing
