Whoever is responsible for that nubbin needs to be fired. Immediately.

When the cooling lines let go?
When the con rod bolts failed and it burst into flame?
When 2nd gear failed?
When the strut tower broke?
Better it happens during testing and not after sold to consumers for a change.

Nubbin will not disappear on regular 992s going forward. The decision to use a regular shifter in the GT cars was made a long time ago as a result of feedback from the test drivers using the car on track.

I'm surprised there's so much talk about the nubbin. As far as I'm concerned they could do away with the shifter entirely and make it push button or whatever. I'd need a pro driver to explain to me why shifting with the PDK stalk is better than just using the paddles. Makes zero sense to me since the paddles allow you to keep your hands on the wheel. Maybe it's just old pro drivers?

Gearbox reportedly same 7sp pdk. Thus same shifter lever. 8 speeds is too much for a track car. Hence the GT cars also dont have a 7MT. Too many f’ing gears. Thanks AP for protecting the ethos of the GT cars against the regular designers/engineers.
