Brake pad compound on GT3 vs Pagid Blue
Hi guys, does anyone know what the OEM brake compound is on GT3 / GT3-RS? I was told it was a Pagid compound.
I have up graded to Brembo GTS BBK 380mm front and rear. It came with FM1000 pads which are very similar to DS2500. Great for the street.
In one track day, I used roughly 50% of front pads and 10% rear pads. So extra vanes really helped with cooling.
I have ran pagid yellows before and whist I love them at the track, the squeal drives me nuts on the street. Even my OEM pads squealed a bit every now and again, but it was nothing like the Yellows.
I see from Pagid that a few OEM use their pagid black 4-2-1. Pagid blue a more sporty but still street. 4-2. I have not had any experience with pagid orange 4-4. But I heard they squeal almost as bad as yellow, so may as well get yellow? Anyone have any experience with Blues or Orange, or know what compound the stock GT3 uses? Cheers.

Forget the Orange...not the right pad for our cars and there use. The blues are a sport pad like your Ferodo ds2500 basically is. I tried ds2500 on my 2017 Carrera GTS and did not like them...wore them out in 1 Sebring track day.
Honestly the best thing is to install Tarett caliper studs and swap pads out for track days. Stock street pads on the street....stop better cold as that’s what they are designed for and a real track pad like Pagid Yellows for a track day as they can take the heat.

I don't need tarrett studs, I have a Brembo GTS BBK. Easy enough to change pads. The pain is jack the car up and removing the wheels. If I am going to the trouble of taking the wheels off, I may as well get track wheels and slicks.
Swap wheels and pads. Then change back. I just wanted a stop gap delay until I did that.
The GT3's and RS's here seem to run forever on stock pads. (Maybe they aren't pushing hard enough yet?)
The ones with carbon ceramics seem to go forever as well. I was told PCCB would barely last 2,000 Track km's. 200,000 on the street but only 2,000 on track. This does not seem to be the case.
I've witnessed a full year of them tracking and they seem good.

GT cars have much much better cooling than Carrera based cars.. thus brakes last longer.

I know an RS has the vents in the hood. But the GT3 doesn't appear much different. Just had the larger rotors which I now have Brembo type III.
