Surface Transforms carbon ceramic rotors are, in our experience, the best alternative to -- really upgrade from -- Porsche's venerable PCCBs. Competition Motorsport is now an Authorized Dealer for Surface Transforms. We've been demo-ing a set of ST carbon ceramic rotors and Pagid pads on our 991 GT3RS before deciding whether to carry them and they are, in a word, incredible. Surface Transforms are experts in the development and production of carbon-ceramic materials and the UK’s only manufacturer of carbon-ceramic brakes for automotive use. They use a proprietary next-gen carbon-ceramic material, called CCST, to create lightweight brake discs for high-performance applications such as the 991 GT3 and GT3RS. Surface Transforms uses their extensive in-house engineering and manufacturing capabilities to produce their innovative carbon-ceramic brake discs.

What's the difference between ST and PCCBs? Conventional carbon-ceramic brake discs use discontinuous (chopped) carbon fiber, where ST interweaves continuous carbon fiber to form a 3D matrix producing a stronger and more durable product with three times the heat conductivity. This reduces heat transferred from the disc to the brake system, lowering brake fluid temperature and increasing the life of system components without sacrificing any braking performance. Surface Transforms' unique patented carbon-ceramic technology provides the ultimate braking performance for road and track.

How much for 991.1 GT3 RS my car has PCCBs

How is the brake dust? What pads are you recommending with these?

Brake dust is similar to PCCB. A little bit from track use but street use stays pretty clean.

Just wish the pad choices were better.

How do you measure carbon wear ?
 

On ST rotors how is remaining carbon measured? PCCB can be followed by dealer with special instrument to assess wear. Will this work on ST rotors also?

Really hate the look of the hats, especially with black wheels. Can they be anodized black?

Are these available for 380 mm steel brakes?

Agree, brake dust is similar to PCCBs. We have used both Pagid RS29 and RSC1 pads with them. The RS29 will increase the wear rate but give you more initial bite than the RSC1. We are also going to try Race Technologies RE10 and PFC 11 compounds along with Pagid RSC2 in the near future.

Pricing for cars originally equipped with PCCB is $12,998 plus pads. Pricing for cars originally equipped with steel rotors is $13,198 as the kit includes replacement hard brake lines to account for the larger diameter rotors.

The ST rotors are 410 x 36mm in the front and 400 x 32mm in the rear.

The refurbishment cost is $2,400 per set of four rotors, not including shipping.

What pads are OEM using for PCCB?
I really like the OEM PCCB bite and depth of braking
