Default 991.1 GT3 Warranty Question - Valved Exhaust

I have been told that the 10 year .1 engine warranty from Porsche is relatively liberal around the engine itself. I have an issue where the valved exhaust stopped working completely. I checked the initial vacuum lines and actuators are not frozen. I'm considering taking it to the dealer but only if it's covered under warranty. They told me that they would need to charge a diag fee of $180 first and then it would be determined if it was covered or not. Has anyone experienced a warranty fix for this issue around the basic .1 10 year warranty?

If they try to tell you that it's not part of the engine (and doesn't benefit from its 10 year warranty) the next angle I would take is to claim that it is part of the exhaust/emissions system which has an 8-year and 80k mile warranty by law (in the US).

Thanks, I like the facet on the other angle . Seems like valved system fails quite often so hopefully someone can chime in that had it repaired on their .1 after the basic warranty was exhausted (no pun intended).

I don't have the warranty letter handy but from memory the additional warranty applies to "internal" engine components. Best of luck, hope you can get cover on the exhaust issue.
