Exclamation Rear Axle Steering Failure (991.2 GT3 RS)

I took delivery of a brand new 991.2 GT3 RS two weeks ago with 10 miles (or 17 km) on it. When I left the dealer, the "rear axle steering failure - drive with caution" light appeared on the dash. They told me that they will have to inspect the car to determine the problem and correct it.
In the meantime, I have a track event at LCMT on June 28. Could it be a problem on the track if they cannot repair the problem prior to June 28?

Also, I bought turndown pipes manufactured by Fabspeed to reduce the noise on the track. However, 991.2 GT3 RS are now known to bust the noise threshold even with turndown pipes. Any advice to make sure I will meet the max sound level?

Thanks.

No, No issue at all, you should definitely go and push your car and yourself to the limit whilst potentially having a steering fault. She'll be right...

Of course. It will just perform as any car without the rear axle steering working. This is obviously not a safety issue but this will definitely have an impact on the overall performance. I heard that the 991.2 GT3 RS was mostly faster on the Ring mainly because of this option apparently.

I think I would try to recalibrate the rear steering.
Its in the manual and not that difficult if I remember correctly.
Probably related to the car shifting in transit and pulling things out of wack a bit.
If that does not work, then, yes a trip to the dealer.

If you're not able to get good lap times with the steering fault I hear running in reverse is just as good and won't impact the value of the car 😉

Yeah, but it'll be the best forklift you've ever driven.

It would depends on the nature of the fault (mechanical or electronic). I would err on the side of caution and not risk a $250K car on the off chance the fault may correct itself in mid-turn.

Run in a left circle 360 degrees and then do right, see if it will reset.

Take your car back to the dealer to diagnose and fix . Don’t track it with any faults , however It may fix itself on the ride to your dealer.
. If you miss the event, oh well, it may be the first time, yet won’t be the last time....
This forum has certainly been transformed

If I had a warning light pop up while leaving the dealer after picking up a brand new car, I would turn around and go back to the dealer...
