Yep...Porsche saw dealers selling Gt3 -RS GT2RS way over MSRP and instead of the dealers getting all that money action Porsche wants a piece of it.
When the 992 GT cars come out I expect a big jump in MSRP over what 991 GT cars were.

So I've been contemplating these two cars for the last day and this is my takeaway ...
The fact that both the GT4 and Spyder, two cars with completely different mission statements, share the same specs is telling,
The specs are on point for an open top, manual, naturally aspirated sports car to have a blast with, so the Spyder seems ideal. To me that seems like a very appealing car and probably a much better value proposition than the Speedster (and this is coming from someone who is getting one) ... conversely said specs fall short for a street legal track car.
Otherwise, for me at least, the only thing to get excited about here is the Spyder.

I agree but they need to be careful. Once they get too close to a proper Ferrari they will lost out on a good chunk of business.

Can’t be same pistons, as turbo will need lower compression ratio. Probably stronger internals in Turbo, but both strong for their purposes.

...and unlike 2016 when there were no GT cars available in a manual, there is (no) shortage of them now, and to the best of my recollection a lot of the 16 GT4 market (other than price point) was based on that element alone. I'm not even sure what the target audience is for this GT4, someone who wants to go much slower that a ZL1 1LE and hates money?
