Given that I do not have auto dimming I would be interested to see what Escort or Uniden clean installs look like inside the cabin.

bTW I never drive without Waze on.

The uniden r1 from Best buy...all the performance of the r3/r7 without the gps and arrows for less than 200$. Cant even beat that with a baseball bat🤕
Always running Waze app like any other proactive , lead footed enthusiast.
There's a permanent windshield mount available that's the cleanest, stealthy looking install when mounted high near rearview mirror.
Plus one for vortex radar on set up for your locality.

I had dealer install Max 360CI and I love it. Pricey but worth the peace of mind for reducing legal jeopardy. I have the display integrated into rear view mirror and controls mounted in non-smokers package cubby. It looks absolutely factory.

No appreciable battery drain - i’m Running an antigravity 16lb battery and have no problem cranking after sitting 3+ weeks. I had an older generation V1 that was unusable due to false alerts. The passport seems to only alert when necessary and very occasionally when not. Highly recommended.

I don’t want to mess up your decision but just remember that if you have a visible detector anywhere in the car you are almost certainly going to get a ticket when you get pulled over. Most likely the maximum too. I have been pulled over 3 times in the last 2 years and every time the office bent down low enough to look for one. And all 3 times i got off with a warning. I don’t use a detector for this reason. Well, also because jammers are illegal in Colorado and laser is common.

I also remember every spot i have seen a cop, and back off before those spots when driving. Saved me just last week. Cop was sitting near a passing lane but hidden. Because i remembered seeing a cop over there last year i didn’t pass. I might have lost my license over that one. So building up a mental database of places you have seen cops really helps. Odds are they will be there again.

R7 Uniden is supposed to be good. Has the arrows so you know where the threat is coming from. Very good range which is a pro and con. I like driving my GT3 without distractions. The engine sounds too good. All the alerts from a detector would take away from the experience. But i get that others like them.

The Radenso Pro M also gets good reviews.

I have the Max 360C, with blendmount and tapped into my dimming mirror. I have an old installation how-to posted on here somewhere.

So far I've got one ticket with it on. On 280 in the Bay Area, was doing about 90ish in the right lane, just cruising, got hit from behind. I think my wing and Miami Blue paint is what did me in as the rest of the traffic was doing about the same rate. Used Escorts ticket rebate and traffic school.

Got hit the other week again on Hwy 1 near Pacifica. Again super slow, right lane, lights flashing behind me. Pulled me over, ran the details, came back and complimented the car and color and told me to take it easy. First warning ever in my entire lifetime of driving. He didn't comment on my detector. G/F took credit for being sweet to the officer, I'll take that.

To you V1 guys who want to update it a little you can pair the V1 with your phone using JBV1 App (only on android) and it will give you auto lockouts based on GPS, Frequency readout, Map based data logging so you can. speed muting, custom KA band sweeps, etc. You will need to buy the bluetooth dongle. The 3rd party developers have really taken hold of the detector and made it a powerhouse with the help of smart phones. Ive been running it for 6 months. It also displays waze police alerts real time. There are some youtube tutorials for the app.

I agree. I bought my GT3 to get to the speed limit in 1.3 seconds. Never ever going over it...

Default Rador Detector and Rador Jammers

Rador Detector and Rador Jammers, you will never get a ticket unless you disregard the alarm, with Waze I got 3 or 4 tickets and been pulled over 10 times

That is a good point in favor of a fully stealth integrated system I guess.

Waze is free and I’ve had no tickets since I started using it and now that the Mass staties pretty much use Explorers exclusively they are much easier to spot.

Yup. Common sense and good situational awareness trumps any detector.

I am sure that many of you have family members in law enforcement who have taught you the "magic word" in getting a warning vs. a ticket. That word is "discretion". I have talked myself out of at least 4 tickets by having an open discussion with the officer that pulls me over that starts off something like this "Officer, I realize you have full discretion to either ticket me or give me a warning. I would ask that you consider giving me a warning on this one occasion and I will watch my speedometer and my gas pedal much more closely". Every officer I have said this to responded like this. "Yes, I do have discretion and I am going to ...... " Only once did I get an actual ticket.

It doesn't work 100% of the time but you are also signaling to them that you have friends or family in law enforcement and understand how their ticketing authority works.

This is not necessarily true I have gotten 2 warnings over the past couple of years with a detector clearly visible up by the mirror [can't hide it with the top down]. It really depends on your demeanor and how your driving IMHO
