Default Toddler seat in sport buckets....

Considering a 911 T and would prefer sport buckets. But wanted to post in this section since I might get a better response. Any of you GT3 or touring owners with sport buckets ever put a toddler seat in them?

I have in both GT3 and RS. There was a small one that fit perfectly.

I bought the Porsche plus seat. 3 year old fits perfect in it and absolutely loves being in the car. Can’t quite see over the dash yet. xD

Fits perfect. Nothing needed. Even fits in the frunk when not in use.

Just to confirm, is this actually Porsche approved? Only reason I am asking is I saw in the configurator that it says sports buckets are not to be used with child restraint seats?

As long as your “passenger airbag off” is illuminated when the seat and child are in it, you are fine. I drove to a Massachusetts state police barracks to confirm it was ok to have child in the front. Might want to check with your state just in case. The seats whether they are bucket or sofa are designed to detect if there is a passenger of 100lbs or more. Which if they are more than that, the light will go off. Again you want to make sure it’s illuminated.

how do you get the deactivation switch? do you need it in the case of sofa seats as well?

Love to know where/how you got a switch. My local dealer, who is a moron, tells me there is no such thing.

Ok, no need for the insults. Who's cool for driving a GT3? The GT3 is a street car so why wouldn't you drive it with a kid??? The GT3 itself is the ultimate no-season tire. Not good for driving on the street and not good for driving on the track.

With that out of the way, to my knowledge the 997.2 introduced the "smart" airbags with weight sensor and was also the last to have a key deactivated retrofit option. So your only option now is to trust the weight sensor. Everyone takes risks in life, IMO, this is pretty low.

I looked at this when spec’ing my 991. My understanding is that the sport buckets are not approved for baby seats. The 4-way and 18-way are, which is why I went with them.

As others have noted, this is different than the 997’s, where they were. I can’t remember if it’s either because of the key disable retrofit option or the type of weight sensor in the seats.

The issue is for seats that secure with the latch mechanism, which is all of them until they're in a booster seat. The only concern with this setup then is whether or not the airbag could deploy on your kid.
My 9 year old rides with me and he rode when he was 8 and 7 in one of these. The benefit of sharing the experience is much greater than the minimal risk; I trust that the light is telling me the truth that the bags are off.
I drive more carefully with him in the car for obvious reasons but shoot, a drunk driver could cross the road and hit us in any vehicle we're driving.
