To each his own but I could not order any GT division car without buckets, never mind a GT3. Would just feel too GTS to me.

I looked really hard for a touring with sofas but ended up with the LWB and could not be happier after all. Yes getting in and out is a relative pain but they are more comfortable to me than the 14 was in my 991.2 C2.

What's wrong with a GTS? IMO, the buckets should be an option on all the models. If someone is getting a plain 911 and wants buckets, they should be able to buy them.

Couldn't agree more. The engine in the R is a weak link...

+1, I did too - Carrara White Metallic winged, had it on my GT4 and really enjoyed it

Art first, I even thought Tourings were wrong as they would take away from the total numbers of GT3s - then I looked closer at the whole package and the more I looked, the more I liked.
Then I really warmed up to the idea after looking at the 911R.

BTW, there is a lot to love about the Touring, but mine was a slight bit more special to me because of dates.
On the exact day of my birthday I received official word that my PTS request was confirmed and then I took delivery on Valentines Day.

Those wheels really are a nice accent on the car

Then I went into the "touring photos" thread and I looked at every single post in there over a couple hours and decided that was the car I had to have.

I mean, look at this........

My PEC ATL Track Instructor kept commenting on the special Touring Seat fabric, that is the most special material of the interior

Porsche marketing knocked it out of the park on this one....compromised car compared to wing with zealot fan base...but no losers here. All great cars....which one is more fun to drive is personal decision. Enjoy them.

Really? Why...? I would have gladly taken Pepita/houndstooth if it wasn't a fortune...

It’s fancy fabric (basically seat belt material) and it is inspired by the corduroy on the 73 RS touring.

Thanks. I hadn't picked up on the homage to the '73. I will say that I think this stuff will wear VERY WELL... It is seemingly very durable...

Yet more news to me. Wow. Guess I will have to keep this thing after all...!

(Glad I ordered the standard wheels - and here I was just thinking they would nicely match the silver window trim...)

Why I bought Touring vs Wing? I debated this back and forth for months.
  • Have a 6 GT3 with the wing for track play
  • Had a non wing 997S street car which I traded in for the new GT3
  • prefer leather to alcantara
  • tried to get an R but was unsuccessful
  • wanted a manual for street fun and engagement vs PDK on previous GT3 or an RS

I thought the touring would have back seats, that would have been cool!
