For me it just came down to doing something different. I really disliked the touring when it was first released, and I even fall into the camp of "GT3s should have wings." That said, this car has been fun. It's different enough from a regular GT3 to take on a character of its own. I also love how the intake/induction noise is different and louder on these than the winged version. I don't care about stealth. The relative scarcity of them is a bit to me appealing as well.

Ha ha, I wish! As Signes said, that is the Euro Delivery center in Leipzig (about half a dozen of these garages). Unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed to do more than start the engine of my car there due to some temporary licensing issues with German government. So, they gave me a 991.2 TT loaner for my trip (292kph on Dottinger Hohe )
As goodwill, they gave me a 90 minute track session in this Manual .2 a couple months ago while on delivery with a friend’s Touring.

ex-Motorsport old guy here so I get the performance without the attention and still feel the Motorsport heritage, I also prefer the leather to the alcantara. Reminds me a lot of a modern '73RS Touring experience.

I think its the uniqueness of the GT3 platform minus the wing. For some odd reason i feel compelled to have carbon buckets in a winged GT3 but find comfortable sofas completely acceptable in a Touring. I specifically bought a touring with comfortable seats because its a great date night car.

My wife and I take it for our date night almost every Friday. I was going to order buckets because they look cool. I mentioned it to my wife when I speced the car. She said she would never ride in it. Now that I have the 4-ways I am glad she said something. They are comfortable and fit the street oriented touring perfectly.

I ordered a winged actually... I remember looking at some of the photos I took and a couple of the angles just didn't seem to look right to me. I couldn't really nail it but my issue was how the wing broke up the lines.
Then I went into the "touring photos" thread and I looked at every single post in there over a couple hours and decided that was the car I had to have.
I mean, look at this........

I agree, I would have felt pressured to have the LWBs in a winged car for value/desirability purposes. I like the 18-ways in the Touring as they are just much more comfortable - and my wife mandated heated seats if I want her along for the rides... As such, I never considered a winged car. When I learned of the Touring it "had me at hello"...
Great shot! Love the color and the wheels...
