Automobile Mag dyno 3RS 430 Hp?
latest Automobile magazine has a dyno claimed 430 hp for the Gt3RS in their Mclaren vs Porsche article. 430 Hp? dyno tested would suggest no ram air effect from intakes, so 18% drivetrain loss, I thought one of the PDK advantages was less power loss because no torque converter. Anyone know about engineering to educate me about this? seems to be a lot if a traditional auto is supposed to be like 20% loss

Dynos are notoriously inaccurate (can’t compare one to another - best to compare runs on same machine on same day).
Ram Air is never part of power rating, or it would be different in every gear (road speed). It’s just gravy on top of rating...

Dyno's are to be used to get a base line and then try out various mod's on the same dyno under the same conditions in order to see the difference + or - the modification does. too many variable to compare various brands of dyno's in various weather conditions.

I think what was useful was the comparative vs the 600LT. whatever the dyno's accuracy, it was 100hp less. Makes sense because there's no way that 600lt is making *just* 600 hp.
