GT3 or 4 or both?
Less than a month ago I purchased a GT4. I love it. So much that I just came to terms on a manual 991.2 GT3- I just need to know how it compares/ how much better. Are these cars different enough to keep both?

Get a test drive. I prefer the 3 and think they’d be a bit redundant.

Do you have both?
If you have both- please tell...

Have a MT 991.2 GT3 now for which I traded in a GT4. Completely different cars. Use them only for the track. Sometimes I miss the GT4. Until I do one lap on GT3 and forget about it. GT4 is a bargain for what it offers. But GT3 is different league. I dont have space to keep both. But if I did I would likely catch myself going for the GT3 keys way more frequently. But guess it is a little different if you will only drive them on the street. Then each provide a little different (though way suboptimal) experience.

Yes, I have both cars (I took the pic to post on here).
To me there’s a case to owing both as they are sufficiently different driving experiences.
With the GT4, I honestly prefer the sound (out of the box). I love the size of the car, I feels more “fitted”. The 981 to me is way more nimble. The mid engine set up makes for superior balance.
As everyone on this side of the forums state, the motor although sounds great, fades in comparison to the 991.2. Also the GT4 understeers like a b!#€h! (Again: stock settings). I’m not sure if it’s a cold tire thing cause most times it’s her mid corner feel that earns most of her praises.
The GT3 is a different animal! Where the GT4 feels like it was a really great car with a good engine, the GT3 feels like it’s an absolutely marvellous engine in a good car. There’s just nothing like the 9k RPM bounty, and the way it pulls all the way to the top.
Corner exit speed/ grip is sublime.
I’m still having to get used to the rear steering, cause I swear I can feel it (gives me the hibigeebies). And the exhaust sound I much prefer in the GT4 (so much so, I’ve changed to the Akrapovic slip on for the GT3). And the clutch is too light for my liking (you get used to it eventually).
I’ve been driving the Touring mostly since the weather broke but last week I took the GT4 out and she’s been on the bottom bunk ready for whatever since then.

Totally different.
GT4 one of the best road cars ever built and a damn good track car.
#3s and RS's less street friendly but track weapons.
Touring probably pretty good street car as well.
PDK_ S not great on the street.
Cheers

It's easy to understand how the GT4 earns the reputation of having the better chassis platform when driven on the road or below 9/10 on the track. But when really driven hard, the GT3's chassis shines as being the far better platform whose balance is easily adjusted with the right foot. The GT4 becomes really frustrating with its terminal understeer (was not helped with a race alignment nor aftermarket suspension components). As you push further the GT3 just gets better and better, while the GT4's limitations just become more glaring. And as stated, the motors are not in the same league...

I have to agree.
Dont no why the mythos GT4 mid engine is better chassis than GT3.
Imho GT3 is better balanced if pushed, engine two different worlds.
Only size „feel“ in GT4 I would prefer.

If money is no issue, go for both. If you can only choose one, consider keeping gt4 as you just bought the car. Next gen gt4 is just around the corner and also the gt3 market is softening, perhaps trade up when you enjoy your current car a bit more.

Yup, best option. Do both. You are going to be dead a long time so go for it.

Don’t do both, even if money is no option. Get the GT3 it’s a much better car with a much better engine. You won’t regret it.

My brother has GT4. Driven it over 12k miles. I was throughly unimpressed with that car from the second I drove it with him from the dealer. Chassis is great but as others stated it becomes limited even with heavy camber. What I disliked the most was the motor and transmission gearing. Frankly I thought motor sucked and gearing made it even worse. I have driven my Carrera T and GT4 back to back and much prefer my T for road and track.

I like both cars, but if I insisted on having two sports cars (as I currently do), I would prefer a little more contrast. Not sure my GT4 would have much purpose, unless the GT3 was offline for maintenance.
