Thanks
Sorry was a typo, just a C clamp and the hose over the end of the pipes. Its like the lower post, with the dryer duct, but better, quieter and you don't have to worry about any damage. Put them really close to the ground, like an inch or less, major difference. big time!

I believe he means a large hose clamp since a C clamp cannot work. This probably won't work at Tremblant since turn-downs bust sound for everyone who has tried them.

hose clamp, the turn down is to deflect the sound the rubber cuts the resonation of the sound wave.

Interesting info above. I ran LCMT last July in my stock GT4 and got black flagged, then wire tied the valves closed for day 2. That didn't work out so well for me as on the first session the back pressure busted the welds off the cat. Hoping to go back this July with my .2 GT3 but nervous about sound. Maybe the Dundon quiet is the trick.

Running with the valves closed is damaging to the engine from extreme heat build up. Running a quiet muffler and Nurburgring Tips is the way to go!

I ran these on my .1 RS with the Dundon catted headers and no problems on the NRing. I have another issue now though, my Dundon headers don’t fit my .2 OPF RS..

Wow, that's crazy! Thanks for the update. When I had trouble passing last summer the tower guys mentioned wiring the valves shut and that just didn't sound like a good idea. I think they're spreading poor advice to help people pass sound without regard to the effect it may have on their cars. I was just over the limit last year with the Dundon quiet exhaust and race headers, couldn't WOT past the roving sound guy (fixed meter on the straight was np). This year I'll add the Dundon Nring tips..... or maybe I'm just done with LCMT.

Jamie,

As you know, I have the full Dundon experience including loud muffler. Have you ever put the Nurburgring tips on that setup? Any idea what the decibles are with that setup. Doesn't matter on our private track, but I would like to run it some at the public track and they have a noise ordinane of 96db. from 50 feet. Thoughts? Still love the set up. Sounds amazing and the extrta HP from the intake and plenum are fantastic.

LCMT is too long of a haul for me from NH to keep dealing with sound issues. Not going full throttle is suboptimal to say the least. I'm 50/50 on going back after 7+ years straight.

Exactly my thinking. Also a long drive for me and last year I missed most of day 1 rigging up turn aways in the Canadian tire parking lot even though I ran the exact same setup the year prior without issue. Day 2 was fine. Day 3 the sound guy moved and then people who passed on days 1 and 2 were getting flagged. Weather was the same all three days. LCMT is getting nuts. Maybe I'll skip a year, see if things settle down...

Well it looks like I might be going to M T this year! Kids are into it and so is my wife......now the magic question is, how do I quiet down my car and not get B Flagged?? I already have Soul turn down tips but looking to modify them. My buddy has same setup as me, Soul side muffler delete but he is also looking to find a way to loose some sound. He said he wants to order a super-trap for his Soul resonated turn downs. strange device and who knows if it creates to much back pressure??

Guys the solution is easy. If the stock exhaust on a GT3, RS, GT4 or Cayman GTS wire the valves shut. My RS passes sound at LCMT and I did 12 days there last year. Among the instructors there are 5 or 6 Cayman GT4s all wired shut with no issues last year or the year before. No problems with the cats either.

Of interest, I staged a top speed shootout. My 2019 RS with the valves wired shut and a 2019 RS Weissach with the valves open. There was no difference whatsoever!

Best,
