Are you in the market for one? If not, why does it matter?

In EU the gt3 991.2 reached the lowest around 150K with 2.000 Km. I'll be really closed to bought ones. the profile of seller was a guy that really didn't understand why he bought car. used few times, no track, few trips in a couple of years. In a way, i think that could be for me a good deal, but I'm not be able to figure out the possible scenarios in the next 12 months. If I'll be condident that more offer will come on a better price after the end of track season and the presentation of gt4/gt3 992, I'll wait. But I'm not expert and I'm usually bad on prediction. what do you think about it? right time to buy or wait a bit to avoid to leave on the floor maybe 20K of decrease in the next 12 months?

I'm good at prediction and I predict all GT3's will be cheaper in 12 months.

Agree with you, though there are only very few GT3 Tourings available.

Get a 991.1 RS. Better car in some ways. Better resale value in 12 months too.

I trust you, so I'll wait but I really want the 991.2, it the car that I follow from almost 1 year. Now that I'm in the right window, I'll be hard to wait. but I agree with you, probably they will soften and the track season is at 50%. so from semptember we'll have a different market.

I'm not interested to 992 as, also if it's masked, it seems ugliest. more important, I'll never had money and I don't want to be part of the speculator that will buy at normal price to sell me double.

I just hope to don't have any regrets on waiting... but I think that, as for me save 10/15K is a value right now (new home & family will come in the next years), my wife I'm sur will appreciate ahahahah

Including 997s/996s? Or you mean all 991 variants?

I have a strong feeling about 90% of us here could be doing something more useful with our time than rambling about Porsche's with strangers...does any of this really matter? No, not really, but is it fun to discuss, bounce around ideas and socialize? With a little bit of day dreaming on the side? In my opinion, yes.

And for the record, no, a 991.2 GT3 is way out of my ballpark right now...maybe a high mileage 997 GT3 in the near future, but I am also in the industry and find great interest (both for my own personal curiosity AND for business) in what motivates purchase/release decisions, specifically with these cars.

Anyone who bought the car for the right reasons (because of the experience the car delivers, how it drives, etc), doesn't really care what the current market value is. Personally I don't care if I had a wing or Touring or how many there may be on the market. My car has $50K in options (never done that before), its the only Pure Green Touring in the US (so what), there's only 690 Tourings in North America (Thanks Rennlist lol), and none of that matters to me. I still put 8K miles in 8 months between weekends only. Just for fun and because I really love the car. Nothing else matters. It will depreciate and I'd rather put a bullet in my head than budget miles. I never think of what it may or may not be worth in the future. Its nice to have appreciating assets, but when it comes to cars, that ruins the fun.

I wish these cars were all still just manual transmission only. Not just because its my preferred transmission, but because I do think the PDK (especially the PDK only in the 991.1 GT3/RS) brought in a bunch of new customers that don't really appreciate the car for what it is; they just bought one because they to say the have one and potentially try to flip.

Yeah, most on the market are wing PDK (hence my theory above). Its virtually the same car as the Touring sans wing and with manual transmission. Kinda close to a R. Still doesn't matter to me. Don't mean to offend anyone, but I have to believe that if low production or rarity matter more to someone than the experience the car delivers, that person must be extremely insecure and trying to compensate for something completely different in their personal life.

But more importantly, speculation on this is a complete waste of time, imo. Especially if you're not even in the market...
