Revs with clutch depressed...

I can rev the engine just fine with clutch in. Not sure what you're talking about. That's how you drive a manual transmission... How else are you supposed to rev match without the auto blip feature? You gotta blip the throttle and rev the engine on downshifts. If the car is preventing you from revving the engine with clutch in, then that also means you are unable to manually rev match. Doesn't make sense.

In all seriousness, please enlighten me... when I depress my clutch and try to rev the motor, it will not rev. It is limited by something. Hot, cold... doesn’t matter, it won’t rev at all. If I put into sport mode, it’ll blip the throttle when I push in on the clutch but motor still won’t rev freely.

Can u turn off “rev match” maybe it wants to match on its own so it won’t let you ?

That shouldn't matter. There have been times, with sport button on, that I've downshifted but not let the clutch out for whatever reason, and let the RPMs drop to idle (while rolling). And then I've manually blipped the throttle to rev match myself and it still works. Like if I'm in 2nd gear, I can still manually rev the engine up to 7K to rev match while moving.

I appreciate all the replies... maybe I should make a quick video to show you guys what I mean. It’s definitely quirky in my opinion. My C7 Corvette had rev match as well as no lift shift and I could free rev it to the moon... this car, not so much.

The Germans love these threads. I know they read them. We eat popcorn, they eat Leberwurst and nice beer and laugh at us all the time. Trust me I know. It's entertaining for them. Ha ha

I’ve noticed the same thing and he’s not talking about reaching the max rpm but how slow the throttle responds to pushing the gas pedal. Its not the same response as when you’re in gear and floor it. For what I remember my PDK 991.1 didn’t act this way on neutral.

Pull in the paddles and rev all you want. Oh wait.

Did anyone get a solution to this? @99Gdzra
My 991.2 GT3 6MT has this EXACT same problem.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Nannies are cool but there’s always a downside on how intrusive they are and if they can truly be turned off completely. My solution is costly and redundant but it is to have a 991.2-3manual for the cool technology in it, including the rev-match/no-lift-shift and own a true old-school analogue, manual option that doesn’t do anything (or minimal) for you. Everyone has a different line in the sand for where they want old-school (anti-lock brakes, power steering, electric steering, power brakes, etc, etc). I just try to embrace the 991.2-3 for what it is. It’s annoying the glitches it can throw off when trying to use it with shifting nannies off, but I’m not shocked there are still some downsides to the slick no-lift and rev-match features.
