As a Lava Orange owner, can confirm the pictures don't represent it right at all. It's somewhere on the spectrum where cameras get confused about what color it is. If you see it live, in any lighting condition, no one would ever mistake it for a red. It is unquestionably orange. In fact the first time I saw it in person I had to confirm it was LO I was seeing because I had only seen pictures before that and it was different enough I needed to double check.
That said I like the other oranges better. Not a massive amount better, but it was free I'd choose Gulf or Signal Orange over Lava. It's just Lava is massively easier to get and cheaper.

I considered LO prior to getting a PTS slot. I would have considered getting it on a winged car but not the Touring. In any case, here are some more pictures from Rare Shades I in Santa Cruz. I think this 991 R picture represents the LO color pretty well (the older 911 is tangerine which looks pretty much identical to LO to me). I agree with Tangerine (who actually owns an LO car, unlike me) that it is undeniably orange. I do see why some call it salmon colored. Really depends on the lighting. I think it is a great color option, and it saves you $9k in comparison to PTS. One could option LO and put the $9k you save on PTS toward PCCBs, for instance. *Actually, come to think of it, even this picture makes LO look more red than it actually is.

Photochopped Boris,
but you saw that was the prior year model, the old 2018
But we must all agree on the impeccable taste involved
Thank you for posting, great pics

Ironically, Alex (the SA at West Palm Beach who posted the pics) may be of Russian descent (I don’t know or care, just his accent would make me think Eastern Europe, he is a cool guy). I might have the VIN somewhere, but I offer a picture as proof. It is pretty much the opposite spec as yours (18 way black wheels PCCB etc.).

I have a few pictures of my car which show how strange it can look next to different things and with different lighting. Also your monitor or phone you are viewing this with also affects it just as much. For sure just go see it in person sometime since Lava Orange should be easy to catch at any Porsche dealer.
1) cloudy day, this looks about right to me
2) sunset, but in the shadow of buildings
3) cloudy day, next to some other very bright cars
4) parking garage horribly lighting, at night
Lava Orange different lighting examples.
