GT3RS WING DELETE?
Hello everyone
I have a GT3 Touring, and love it... though I am considering a GT3RS...
I heard that there are wing delete kits for GT3RS.... but can't find any. Is that a reality? Anyone knows where to find it?
Thanks much

I've seen someone simply remove the wing from their GT2 RS simply to decrease drag for a drag race, but you're going to mess up the balance of the car for cornering if you do that.
The wing on the GT3 RS is phenomenal for down force and control around corners. You don't want to remove that when you're on a track!
My suggestion would be to just stick with your GT3 touring if you don't like the wing. . . and you probably don't want to daily drive the GT3 RS: it's rather jumpy in the lower gears at low speed.

Keep your touring unless you track a lot. Then dump it and get the RS and a daily driver. Can't imagine using my RS as a daily.

Thank you all for your replies. I realized I misled this thread into thinking I wanted to use the RS as daily driver.
I dont. I have a macan turbo for that.
I am going to rewrite the question.

I have an RS. I have not seen a kit for the wing removal. I have not removed my wing.
As stated, a couple of simple screws on both sides allow for the upright (and wing) removal. You are left with a couple of exposed holes on each side however. Perhaps someone is making a kit to cover these holes (I've seen a custom carbon fiber one in some IG pictures but *think* it was a one-off).
Hope this helps.

Hi, was in same boat and wrote about this in the fall. Removing the RS wing can warp and seriously damage the screw inserts into the CF engine cover because some of the glue used to secure these to the CF thread can seep onto the screw and lock the screw and insert during assembly at the factory. In my case that happened in one of the six screws but I recognized it early and was able to get around issue without destroying >$20k CF engine cover.
Beyond that, without wing the RS felt less special and despite what other have written re. Wing only coming into play above 120 mph, I felt it messed up the balance of the RS even above 70-80 mph. So I put wing back on and am very happy now.
At any rate, realize the screws and inserts and overall design are NOT conducive to taking wing on/putting it back on as you wish ... I will not be attempting this again. If you strip the threads of the screw inserts in the CF engine cover, you will be sorry and will need to buy and paint a new CF engine cover, porsche will not cover it ... if you hate wing try something else. Although there are are some elegant wing tip solutions after you have removed the wing, I am surprised issue with stripping warping CF engine cover is not addressed by these entrepreneurial outfits.
