Pdump the 991R, the Speedster will do everything better. When 992 GT3RS is out trade the 991.2 GT3RS, in the meantime visit the racetracks you have within a 12 hours driving distance. There won't be a 992 GT3RS on your hands for at least 2 years, what are you going to track? If you don't track, dump the GT3RS because it makes no sense as a street or cars&wine car.
I do not know when the 992 GT3 RS will arrive but what I do know is that the 992 GT3 comes into production in July 2020.

of course..
buy every new variant.
drive it
if it digs under your skin, keep it. if not sell it.
very very few cars stay in my garage longer than a year. some only last a day, I kid you not
but it's worth it to try all the new stuff.
and don't u dare sell the 4.0

Option placed on 992.GT3 RS, i seen the car MULE at the ring in a very confidential room, off course no picture allowed...
To give you an idea the wing of the GT2 RS is ridiculous compared to the 992 RS :-)
Totally new car in term of aero, NA engine 100% in range 540/560HP, it will be faster than a 991 GT2 rs on the ring for sure, the development will start soon...

Porsche on a roll - top marks for quick new product introductions. Will not please speculators.

Well, a CGT or 4.0 RS is much slower on the Ring. By the numbers, 993 was a "better" (and the last) air cooled, but many prefer 964 or 3.2 for their rawness and more analog feel. The point is, only time will tell if 992 RS will feel more special.
Anyhow, there will be many more copies of 992 GT's made and sold, and there will be more special GT editions to come.

If you have such a nice budget for sports cars, why don't you diversify an try a Ferrari F430/Scuderia or 458/488 (of course assuming you don't already have and may even be pondering same 1st world issues with other Marques as well), not only will it expand your automotive horizons instead of torturing yourself over minor inter-GT3 model variations. In doing so, you will come to enjoy the specialness and unique value and fun proposition that GT3/GT2 offer in all their versions even more...

I’ve done the opposite. I’ve had almost every type of exotic (Ferrari, lamborghini and Mclaren). I keep finding myself coming back to GT Porsche’s. Just sold my 720s for a 2019 GT3 RS and couldn’t be happier!

if only 1 special car then sure GT3 variants good value overall but at some point getting more of the same flavor leads to diminishing returns

Actually, seems like saying the same thing: experiencing manufacturers outside of porsche makes you appreciate the GT product that much more. I’ve sold off everything else and going back 100% p-gt.

Ahh, you could have saved me some hassle and money if I just asked you first . Although we both know I needed to experience it first hand. But it did really make me appreciate porsche and porsche owners all that much more. And, it took some time, multiple examples and a lot of driving events. Initially, the “new shiny toy” made me love the non-porsche stuff just because it was different. I’ve always loved the 997 and older stuff. The 991 stuff (and owners) are what I really learned to appreciate after owning, driving and being around the owners of other brand gt’s.
