Default Just went for a drive

.2 Wing MT, month 6 of ownership, previous car was a 997 GT3. It gets better every time I drive it. Perfect balance of raw without being punishing. More speed than you need but 100% useable on the right roads. Looks special without being overly flashy or exotic. Steering accuracy is best I have driven except for the RS. Brakes are perfect. The 4.0 is about as flawless of an engine as I can think of. Sounds are just lovely. What a great car.

Thats all.

I've been out the country for almost a month. Got back today and had to turn it up and catch some wind. I missed my car and it brought a big smile.

When I go a week without driving it, I get withdrawals. Unfortunately heavy rain is in the forecast this weekend here in SF so I'll have to live vicariously through you all.

Driving this machine is always on my mind!

That’s what it’s all about. Couldn’t agree more.

It took me a few rides to get used to the clutch and I love it now!

Love the post, I almost started one after my first experience with my 16 RS at Smokies a few weeks ago. So a different car than the OP, but these 991 GT cars are just incredible. The mechanical grip compared to my 997.2 GT3 is simply awesome. These cars are so balanced and have enough tire up front to keep me feeling confident in all sorts of situations. I thought I missed my 6 speed until I got after it with the PDK and frankly a driver of my skill level can't beat the PDK. It takes care of power delivery better than I ever could with a manual. As much as I hate to admit that. 700 miles in 3 days of endless country roads chasing down other GT cars - it gets no better. These things need to be driven.

Great Post! In full agreement. After a week of work, the weekend is reserved for alone time with the .2 wing MT

You know the .2 Wing MT is an addiction when you spend 3 hours Saturday morning cleaning an already spotless car in anticipation of an early Sunday run with a questionable weather forecast...

Similar sentiments here as well. Got home at a reasonable hour today after four days of travel for work. Before that was a week of total **** weather. Briefly greeted dog and wife then jumped in the car. .2 no wing. All smiles.

Great description.
To add to that, my 991.2 GT3 feels much more planted than my 997.2 GT3 when driving on uneven back roads. The rear wheel steering may be a major contributor but to me the 991.2 GT3 is a much more fun ride on back roads.

Thank you op for making this great post. You just feel so connected to this car, especially with Manual transmission.
