Thank you !

You can order them in the UK when you build your car or from parts.

SupremePower is vendor here selling them. I believe I read somewhere that the going rate is $20k-ish. I assume they could ship to U.K. for you.

What’s the weight on these versus regular rims.

Johnny Five 05-16-2019 01:40 AM

Hey RL,

I want a set of BBS mag wheels BAD. Can you feel the weight difference? I believe the BBS are 7 lbs per corner lighter than stock .2 GT3RS wheels - does it register on the butt dyno? Quicker transitions? How well would a set hold up on the street assuming good roads and reasonable pothole avoidance? Thanks.

The aftermarket BBS Magnesium wheels come in at approximately 15.95 lb (7.23 kg) for the fronts & 21.9 lb (9.93 kg) for the rears. The OEM Magnesium wheels (also built by BBS) come in at +2 lbs per corner on those weights.

We have more information here on our BBS Magnesium Guide - https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...-boutique.html

The difference between the two sets is about 2 lbs per corner. I don't believe this difference in weight would be noticeable on anybody's butt dyno no matter how well tuned it is ;) haha.

Both are going to be equally as durable - which is to say extremely durable even in the worst road conditions.

We have one set of the OEM Magnesium's left for sale. Contact me directly for more information - David@WheelsBoutique.com

There is a substantial performance increase w the BBS Manthey vs Non Mag Wheels as the Mag wheels are 7 pounds lighter which is tremendoius especially where you consider where you are saving the weight. Quicker accelerations. Quicker transitions. Quicker stops.

The wheels are over engineered by BBS and will be durable for road or track use. We still recommend steering way clear of any potholes!!

If you need assistance we would be happy to get you guys set up.

Interesting to see that the OEM Mag rims are basically the same weight as BBS Fi Rs..Taking that statistic into account is there any advantage with former compared to the latter in terms of dynamics and even more importantly durability and strength..
If there isn't much why choose the OEM Mags over the Fi Rs in the first place..?

Some are not as they have the same viewpoint. Check out this beautiful GT2RS in our custom liquid painted finish:

Yes I meant BBS mag compared to stock 3RS non-mag. Thanks to you and Wheelsb for your responses. Saving my pennies!

So like one big pothole and they’re toast? I’m pretty good at dodging them. Any RLers with real world street experience who can weigh in? Thanks.

The magnesium is a lot more rigid than aluminum and if that were the case Porsche would not use them as an OE wheel. They must still pass stringent testing to be used in an OE application
