Default Next GT3 will get the speedster engine

So now the hp increases are coming in smaller increments.... and with a particulate filter. I guess this is a good thing as at least it is still NA.

That reporting seems pretty loose. When they say the "Same Engine", I really don't think the same engine is going in all those cars. Sure, the may all be 4.0L Flat-6 NA motors, but do we really think a 718 Boxster Touring is getting the dry sump motor with 6 ITB's, Ti conrods, hollow crank, etc???

It's not reporting.. it's just speculation of exactly the same source and nature as our posts here. That writer has no idea, no inside info.. just needs to fill copy with a small catchy blurb to meet his quota. So he says what logically any enthusiast who follows the brand can infer. Then we read it, we repeat it... and there's a very good chance it was all sourced in another Rennlist thread. Hell, I may have written it myself or maybe you did... the point is, don't believe what you read on the internet, especially nowadays.

Anyway, did you guys hear the next GT3 is getting the speedster engine?

Right, but the Speedster engine could be artificially limited to 420hp. My point is that the mechanicals will not be the same.

" The engine serves in the 991.2-series GT3 and GT3 RS, tuned to 394 horsepower and 520 hp respectively."

"394 HP??????? Didn't know my 2018 GT3-2 Engine made so much less HP than my 476 HP GT3-1 Engine.
Must come as a big surprise for Porsche also. They told me it made 500 HP.
This reporter is obviously clueless - and hardly worth reading at all.

Technically, the .2 is rated at 490hp. Not 500. And the GT3RS rated at 513, not 520. But yeah... weird typo in that "article."

Researching primary sources for factual information takes time, effort, and a substantive education. All of which are now passé.

520 PS/DIN x 0.986 = 513 BHP/SAE. For some reason, most manufacturers have chosen to switch back to stating BHP in the last year.

"Will get the Speedster engine" doesn't mean it'll make the exact same power figures. For each model they make the drivetrain is set up slightly differently, fitting for the application. What is actually meant here is that they will continue to use the engine architecture and the next GT3 will benefit from things like the individual throttle bodies and improved fuel injection system, and that's pretty clear when reading the actual quotes from Preuninger in the original article. No mention of 'the next GT3 will have 510 PS'.

We’ve invested in the future with this engine. I can’t comment on future projects but we would be stupid not to re-use this engine somewhere.

Our philosophy in GT cars is to stay naturally aspirated. We want to keep that engine for the future and that’s why we’ve made such a tremendous effort to get the engine right without taking emotion and performance away.

improved fuel injection system??

does 250 bar instead of 200 mean less fuel
better emission and consumption but at the cost of a "more dry" air/fuel mix,
so less lubricated cylinders thus more mechsnicsl stress ?
