Insurance for young GT3RS Owner
Hi everyone,
Long time reader, first-time poster. I am 21 years old and own a 2016 GT3RS, I was curious if anyone knew of insurance companies that are generally friendly to younger Porsche owners, the cheapest insurance rates that I have been getting are around $400 a month. I have no tickets/accidents and this is my only vehicle. Thanks in advance!
Update:
Thanks for the help everyone! Heres some photos of my RS.
Update 2:
Lol I don't know why it's so crazy for a 21 year old to have an RS. I bought the car in Salt Lake City and drove it back to SF.
Here you go.

Did you sell a start-up or own your company? You might be able to claim it as a business vehicle. A lot of bay area folks on here. There are cheaper options, but you get what you pay for. You get more discounts if you bundle with home owner's insurance, umbrella, etc.

$400 a month seems pretty cheap to me for a $250K car in the hands of a 21 yo.

Actually $4800 a year is not that bad for a 21 year old insuring a street legal race car. You have three things working against you: your age, the car being insured, and living in the city. Your premium will go down on your 25th birthday.

Agree with the others I pay 3600 a year for my sons bmw 320. He's 16 and no accidents (knock on wood)

I agree with what everyone has posted. At your age you will have to pay$$$$ to play. If possible find an old beater and claim that as your main car. You don’t have to drive it ( just don’t tell that to the insurance company )

In addition to what others have said, you might be able to get some discounts if you bundle with an umbrella policy, home owners or renters insurance, AAA membership, pay 6 months or 1 year in advance, and if you tell them you only drive limited mileage (like 3K/year).

$400 is a steal considering the car and your age if you ask me.
The tragic part is if you downgraded to one of the usual suspect cars for for your age bracket it could likely be more than that anyway.
Congrats, enjoy it and keep that record clean... somehow.

1st congrats on the RS and having one at a young age. You're doing something correct!
To lower..slightly.... your insurance... you will need to move out of that city, get married, turn 25 yrs old and if you had another car..something low key that does not have high rates due to high theft of that particular car model, low hp nothing flashy and insure your RS for low low miles you can drop rates a little.
Other than that you gotta post up photos of your RS on Rennlist

I will echo others. For California, $400 is way cheap. Almost sounds to good to be true....even made me think that this is a Troll post. I have a 22 year old with no tickets in LA with an economy car, no tickets, and through USAA with minimal coverage the cost is over $200/month. I truly can't believe that any insurance company in their right mind would insure a 21 year old male on this car.
