I have GEICO as my auto, homeowner, and rental proprty insurance company. A year ago, when I inquire about a GT3 RS, they wouldn't even insure me due to the value of the vehicle. I am 43.

imo $400 a month for a GT3RS is a steal. I paid ~$300 a month on a mustang at 21.

It’s acceptable, I was just curious if there are any better options.

How is it owning an RS in the city? Do you track it or get to driving roads much?

City parking is no joke either. I was considering living at Nema but the $400 monthly parking fee, rent, and living in the loin was a bit too much. Decided to buy on peninsula instead (better roads are a bonus too).

You got off easy. I was paying $1,000 per month for an M3 at 23... it was ridiculous but I wanted the car.

Coincidently, I had an F80 M3 at 23 too but I was paying $600 a month. Still ridiculous but oh well.

It's not bad, I have a garage as I live in a condo, but actually driving in the city is the worst. Whenever I need to go somewhere in downtown I just Uber, it's not worth paying $30 for parking and having to drive over the garbage roads.

This is very true. Also, along those lines. Don't go to Costco to save 20 cents a gallon for fill ups... stick with Shell, haha.

Get married. That’s the only thing that dropped my insurance. Oh and make sure she makes hauls in the mail as well and likes cars. But seriously. Insurance companies tend to think if a woman trusts you then you’re more trustworthy for them.

But I saw it happen. About ten years ago there was a temporary fuel shortage in my area due to a refinery shutdown. It caused gas pries to climb about 40 cents a gallon in a couple of days, resulting in a 60 cent differential between 89 and 93 octane. So as I was putting 93 octane in my 997, a new Mercedes Benz S class pulled into the pump adjacent to the one I was using, and of course he was pumping 89 octane. I asked him if that was the gas he always used, and he said no but decided to use it this time because of the high price of 93 octane. The MSRP of the S class at that time was a little over $100K.

Well, yeah. You had a 997 and he had an S class. That doesn't sound too surprising lol.

I agree with this sentiment, buying these supercars is the easy part, maintaining it is the expensive part. More so with Ferrari vs Porsche. But at $400 a month for a 21 year old that's not bad at all considering the value of the car. Reminds me of when I graduated college my parents bought me a BMW X5 M and my Dad asked the salesperson how does it do on mpg? The sales person smirked and told my Dad the people buying these cars don't really care about mpg. At the time I thought what a ridiculous comment but in hindsight he probably was right.
