Are you referring to the snapping sound when you stab the throttle quickly for rev matching? If so I get that too and assume it is an intake flapper opening and hitting a stop?

Yes you have articulated it perfectly. I believe you are correct as the dealer said it was an induction noise. Thanks for the feed back. still being run in so it will be interesting to see if it makes the noise at higher RPM.

On an interesting side note with regards to this, try moving the throttle on and off with just the ignition on (in a quiet place). You can actually hear the electronic throttle opening and closing! Cool stuff.

I actually learned about that trick here:
Probably the best video review of the 911R. I met Jason Camissa at a Cars & Coffee recently, and he couldn't have been a nicer guy. He drove up in his own VW Scirocco, which he loved. He can probably drive any car he wants, but I thought it was so cool that he chose to drive that car. He's a true auto enthusiast!
