Tried searching here, only found info related to the .1 GT3 motor being alusil. Press release I read for 991.2 4.0 states "reduced friction cylinder walls", albeit, no specifics. Anyone know if they are still using alusil or have they gone back to nikasil or some special sauce variant of nikasil?

Also, is the GT3 RS same coating as GT3?

Don't know the answer to your first question, but almost certain the GT3 and RS engines are mechanically Identical.

Surprised this information isn't readily available like it was for previous iterations, must be some kind of special sauce?

See my answer in the other thread. Its not special sauce but they use a new technology (same like the Carrera engines) now to bring in a coating in the alusil block.
