Wow, what a car and what a trip! Thanks for the great write-up and all of the pictures. Can't wait to see that beauty in person sometime soon!

Thanks! Our original delivery date was November, until we lucked into a PTS slot! We were wondering how the weather would be different in November from March/April, if any. The downside to a Spring delivery was that the passes were still closed, but from what we were reading, when they're open, they're generally very crowded. We only had three days of rain during the trip, for which we were very grateful!

Have to have a list of hotels!!
My significant other did a fair amount of the planning and most of the food pics and selections are hers! The one complaint about the food, especially in Italy, is that the bar is now reset. I can't help but be amazed at what some restaurants in the US pass off as "Italian" food

Hotels were:

Althoff Schlossgarten, Stuttgart
Villa d'Este, Cernobbio (Lake Como)
Excelsior, Rapallo (Portofino and the Belmond Splendido were closed, due to a storn in October that wiped out the road between Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino)
Hotel de Paris, Monaco
Limestone cave, Bonnieux (Arguably one of the best place we stayed)

Nice! Garda is a beautiful alpine lake and we briefly considered it, but it was a bit too far to the East for our itinerary.

Thank you! Yours, Trakcar, and Orthojoe's were inspirations for the ED! Production date was February, BTW.

Well done.
Thanks Peter! We looked for you and Chris, when we got there, but figured you had bounced, rather than doing the same tour you did last time!

We were out of there the second they gave us the key :-)

Made a max 7000RPM run to the shop to prep the car for Bilsterberg the next day.
Your journey looks so much more picturesque and relaxing lol, or dinner was a Snickers bar half the time hahaha.

No such antics if Mrs Trakcar comes along for sure.

I just love this post so much. I have driven all over Germany/Switzerland/Austria/Northern Italy and the Nurburgring many times in rental cars, and I own a GT3 here at home, but I have yet to combine these loves via euro delivery. I hope to do a Euro Delivery GT3 one day, and I'm just sad I'm too late to do it with a 991. Cheers, Andi

There's the idealized notion of driving your brand spanking 12 km delivery mile car through romantic Europe and then there's the reality of Milan traffic, unfamiliar road signs, local driving habits, and marginally passable streets that ages you a few years! And then there's the AirBNB you book, thinking it's cool, but never factoring in the clearance or navigating washed out ruts and rocky walls More on that later! BTW...there was literally 1 inch or less clearance on the rear diffuser vanes...
