Replace my '06 Cayenne with a new one.

Why? Because we like the '06; it's just getting old, has a number of nagging faults, and paint and trim looks ugly.

Refresh my '04 GT3.

Why? While the 991 RS would be a real candidate (awesome car), the 996 GT3's total lack of creature comforts (except A/C) is what a real sports car means to me.

Also, I bought it the same day I met the girl that is now my wife and Derek Bell signed the inside of the hood for us. We've put 135K miles on is so far and it's part of the family.

Great thread with some interesting reads.

Agree Spyder and RS great combo. Manual GT3 wouldn't be different enough.

I've had a 993tt since 2006 and the cgt since 2007 and could easily keep them for the next 10 years. Their "skills" feel very different but complementary, they bring different smiles to my face and make an excellent combination. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool three pedal guy so nothing recent has really even tempted me until the Touring, and now Speedster came out. One of those might make me switch out.......

The more I think about this thread, the tougher it becomes. Posts above about the 996 GT3 (one for the ages) and the lack of commentary for 918/959 are interesting comments, too.

For me, it would become about choosing one old (or older) and one new from the below:

CGT
CTR
997 RS 4.0
987.2 Boxster Spyder
996.2 GT3
The right 914

On the periphery:
356 Speedster (real or Intermecannica with Polo engine)
SWB 911/S
Ideal hot-rod air-cooled 911
986 2.5

Picking two from the above? Mm, changes by the day.

This question has rattled around in my head after a year into this forum. Damn that garage thread.

I absolutely love my 2015 PDK GTS Cab and needed to add something to it for a two car stable.

Came up with this and am loving my choice:

2011 997.2 GT3RS
2015 911 PDK GTS Cab

I'm done.......I hope.

1. My Sharkwerks 3.9 997 gt3
2. Purchase a 991 gt3rs

Then use them both at Sebring

Default Close in years

The 964RS looks very old school with tall front fenders and upright headlights.

The 993RS has a modern shape with a giant rear wing reminiscent of later GT3RS models.

Pete: You are a man of taste and distinction. 987.2 Spyder is a gem.

CGT and RS4.0. Although I haven't driven an RS 4.0. I really enjoy the engine of the 991.2 GT3 coupled with the manual and JCR race pipes. Would definitely need to drive the RS4.0 first.
