Well it was a fun night at Yas Marina F1 Circuit and i have plenty of videos, but I thought this one would be cool to watch especially that you can see the extra power advantage and constant flames coming from the GT2RS. Both cars are stock.

Nice driving! Whenever I watch a video with no lift shifting it just makes me cringe- it just seems wrong on so many levels... I must try it soon, LOL!

If you no-lift shift slower (as in don't try for the fastest shift possible), you'll find that the computer brings the revs down and holds it so that it matches what you want for the next gear. This even works just driving around town normally — you don't have to be up near redline or at full throttle. All things considered, probably better for the life of the clutch haha, though no-lift shifting is generally associated with as-fast-as-possible gear changes.

I find that if I'm feeling particularly lazy or someone is in the car with me and is wanting a smoother ride, I'll no-lift shift as I'm driving just casually. Works to a certain extent when blipping manually on the downshifts as well (even without the Sport button turned on).

I did just as you suggested today driving into town! Still have to force my foot to stay in the throttle though. At low revs it’s almost imperceptible...

I will- I’ll pretend it’s a PDK with a clutch, LOL

Are you sure this works in the GT4 ? There's no mention of it in the owners manual.
No lift shift for engaging a higher gear only and not going to a lower gear ?

I don’t think it’s mentioned in the GT3 manual as well. I only do no lift shifts/power shifts at the track or when racing another GT3\GT3RS with a PDK or a fast far. It became a habit for me when Im on the track that all my up shifts are power shifts.

In the older 997.1/.2 GT3/GT3RS i used to power shift between certain gears only (3-4 and 4-5) as the transmission wasn’t as smooth as the GT4/991.2 GT3/R. Also the same goes to C7 Vettes compared to C6 Vettes. Power shifts are much easier in the C7 Vettes.

Power shifts is used going to higher gears and you have to be quick in order not to damage anything. On downshifts you heel and toe.

The GT3 rev matches in down and up shifts when sport mode is engaged so there is no risk of damage as long as you are in sport mode. The OP is referring to power shifting without electronic rev matching. FYI, I had a C7 Corvette and it has electronic rev matching also, but not sure how well it works upshifting since I have already posted earlier, I've not tried it.
