Default How much higher is 991.2 GT3RS rear wing ?

How much higher is 991.2 GT3 RS rear wing, than the 991.1 GT3 RS and can the parts be interchanged on the 991.1 GT3 RS just by changing the main uprights from the 991.2 GT3 RS ?

Not much - maybe an inch. All indications are 991.2 uprights are plug and play for 991.1 based on eyeballing both but you'll want to confirm with dealer. Alternatively, reach out to Suncoast Porsche Parts. They'll know the answer and are very responsive.

He'll need to add the diffuser and .2 front bumper to maintain aero balance..... and probably stiffer springs and .2 shock tuning.

I have an unused, NIB, never mounted, .1 GT3RS (actually the R part) diffuser I ordered from Sunset.

Now that I have the .2RS, I guess I won't be needing it (until I go off-roading :-) ).

Part # 991-504-257-98 ... lists for $562 ; offer me $450 ...

I also have the same diffuser I installed on my .1 RS that I need to sell but I don't want to hijack EZinternet from selling his. So once his sells to someone then contact me on mine.

I like the taller, narrower wing on the .2RS, but I could use another inch or two, so to see under it completely.
Whatever the reason the .2RS has really good downforce.

Is the .2 wing narrower? BTW, do you mean the chord (depth) or span (width)?

Porsche’s latest and greatest 991.2 GT3 RS has made a big splash in the automotive world with its astounding Nürburgring lap time of 6:56.4, which is exceptional for a car with “merely” 520 hp. The same basic aerodynamic package of its predecessor was used, with some key improvements. Unlike all previous GT3s which used air exiting the side radiators for front brake cooling, the 991.2 GT3 RS uses dedicated NACAducts on the front lid (as derived from the current GT2 RS track-day special). This allows all of the airflow through the front wheel housings to be efficiently evacuated out of even larger extractor vents in the front fenders. Subtle contours in the front lip spoiler/splitter promote laminar airflow around the front bumper; the sum of the front end aero aids of the latest GT3 RS obviate the need for dive planes as in the 997 GT3 RS 4.0, which reduces drag (Cd remains at 0.33).

At its nominal rear wing setting, the latest GT3 RS produces the same overall downforce figure as the 991.1 GT3 RS (770 lbs at 186 mph). Manually adjusting the rear wing’s angle of attack increases this figure to 992 lbs! However, to achieve balanced aerodynamic forces front to rear, a complementary adjustment needs to be made at the front, and this is done in a crudely simple yet effective manner. As introduced in the 981-gen Cayman GT4, a small panel is removed from the leading portion of both of the inner front wheel housings. This increases the throughput of air over the front lip spoiler and through the wheel housings, which increases front downforce.

Its a about 2 Inch narrower (For sure, I measured) the rest of the wing looks the same (Unsure, didn't measure).

I asked my shop in Germany about this and they had never heard of it on the .2 GT3RS, does anyone have photo's because I run my rear wing on max.

I did mine the day after delivery, Orthojoe’s journal has it documented.

But 2 things are needed, the 4 bolts to remove the little 10” wide tabs ahead of the front wheels, and also the removal of the grills under the fender vents for even more front downforce.

and a lowered car would produce even more downforce (because of less lift). I lowered mine nearly 1” front and rear, already gone through 3 front spoiler lips, buying 4th one tomorrow.
