Don't look now but Porsche is as expensive as Ferrari

....that is if you want a GT2RS or Speedster. I suppose Porsche is a more reliable car, but Ferrari is, well a Ferrari and they give you 7 years of free ownership/maintenance:icon107:

Based on my dealing with a local f car dealer it looks like I’ll have less of a problem getting an allocation for something I want and Ferrari will take away a franchise if the dealer sells to a broker or sells over MSRP...

Porsche reliable? like his VW mother dieselgate? P are cars that had their success as the price was in between BMW and F or Mc exotics
now they re really exagerating
165k for a 3liters outdated engine on s 4s chassis in prod since 2011 is over my understanding
but marketing works strong in certain heads
and when you go from concreteness to fashion price, the change in mass mind changes fast as the seasons...

Porsche buyer market has become overrun with speculators. Ferrari has speculators too but it doesn’t seem as excessive as Porsche.

If I dont get a speedster, I will spec a Portifino. Or just drive my BMW Z8...

you forgot to mention bore scoring, IMS, coolant line glue coming loose, plastic coolant hoses breaking on Cayennes, even the old air cooled ones; oil leaks, magnesium blocks leaking, head studs breaking,
oh don't forget about GT3 stop production for engine fires and then engine replacement.
I love these cars but they do have some design/reliablility issues.

Are you sure that Porsche is more reliable than a modern Ferrari?

Amen. Can you imagine dropping 165k for a 992 C4S with a 3.0 turbo putting out practically the same power as a 3.0 Turbo M3 from 5 years earlier? It's no wonder Motorsport products have the ADM.

Porsche is a SUV company now. It's sad to see Ferrari going in the same direction but it hasn't happened yet.

No trolling here. I'm a Porsche fan boy too.....just making a comment on the high end sports car market that a lot of us pour a lot of dough into :)

At least Porsches still come in manual!

There is no perfect car. They all have issues that vary in frequency over time. Dependent also on their vendors having issues with their designs and engineering.

I find this thread interesting. I have been a die-hard Porsche fan for about 15 years now since my first purchase which was a 996TT. I've really loved the brand and felt they offer an incredible car. With that to say, over the years as the price of entry on the higher end models has crept up again I slowly find myself curious about other brands. For example; my '18 TTS was $229K new and of course my .2 3RS +200K. For me, once I became comfortable spending 200+ on a Porsche I often find myself wondering what else I could buy. Specifically as I was contemplating a 2RS purchase I really wondered if I should look at other brands. Ultimately I stay in Porsche because I am familiar and have a good relationship with my dealer but I must admit, there is something about a F12 that calls to me...

they’re getting up there. The Ferrari MTC is 7 years of fluid changes .....saves about 2k a year. I’m due next month.
