Engine Break-in, Inconsistent Info in Owner's Manuals
#16
My GT3T was also an 11/30 build. Manual says 2K break in. Last year when I picked up my E-Hybrid Sport Turismo and asked the instructor about break-in, he said they run "all the cars" at the limit on day one, they don't have time for anything else, and there never is a problem. The car has been in the garage in Park City since it arrived in late Feb. Heading from SLC to home in NY via Grand Canyon, rte 89A, rte 66 on Tuesday. Will be able to keep it in on I-15 for the first 300+. After that?????

You guys crack me up. I just came over from the 991 Turbo board to poke about. You guys must be tortured for the first 1000-2000 miles, or whatever it is. Not that it matters but the TT break-in is 2000 miles. lmao

My nove 2018 build - Jan 2019 delivery - 2018 model year touring has the 1000/7000 break in manual. I generally did 5k just given the route I take to work. Now at 1500 miles no oil issues.

My 2019 GT3 (Jan. 2019 build / March 2019 delivery) owner's manual states the same as yours. I'm up to 950 miles now...oh so close. This car is amazing; I love the way it pulls harder as the revs climb. Awesome soundtrack with the windows down as she gets wound out.

I'm glad I don't have a 2RS as keeping the beast under 4000 RPM for 2000 miles would be a torture. How many 2RS owner even drive the car 2000 miles a year? So break-in would require more than a year for these folks.
