Thats what it seems like is happening with the Porsche Turbo cars. Well essentially all their cars other than the 3 GT
models.
Oh wait, you are referring to mclaren? Not sure I’ve seen deep discounts on new cars. Used cars seem to be suffering normal depreciation.
Mans the fact that Porsche makes 100x cars a year co pared to mclaren yet you accuse mclaren of overproduction. Really has me scratching my head.
I hope I am not coming across as slamming McLaren. I own one and love their story. I get defensive when I hear all about the crazy depreciation. My felling is that's old news as the newer stuff is so much better and more and more people are starting to follow McLaren.
720 spiders- no discounts
720 coupes- maybe 5% on a new car. The early launch edition cars were bloated builds and all that carbon has lost value as one would expect.
600 LT- am seeing no discounts on these.
570- yes you can get deals on these. It’s a model on its way out. Coming up on 5th year of production.
senna- selling over Msrp.
p1 - selling over msep
models.

Again wouldn't you agree that too many cars on the lot with deep discounts and no buyers would indicate supply has exceeded demand?

depreciation hits all brands. Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, Mclaren - none of them are immune.
The "crazy depreciation" you are referring to is a byproduct of how Mclaren screwed up with the 12c and 650. 720, 570, 600, P1, Senna, all have suffered normal depreciation with the Senna and P1 suffering from appreciation.
As a reference point - 488 did not hold value as compared to the 458.
Aventador- 2 year old model selling for 150k+ below msrp.
Porsche Turbo, Carrera, Panamera, Cayenne etc etc- everything other than the 3 GT models - suffer from normal deprecation.
As far as production vs over production- Ive posted the numbers.
Can we now please stop talking about depreciation and about how the cars actually drive. People spending 300k on a car certainly dont want to lose money on it but they also dont sit there and obsess for hours on end on losing an extra 20 grand. Its the price of admission.
Ive posted this before- my last vacation with the family cost a pretty penny. But memories for a lifetime that I will never forget. But that money is gone. Depreciated if you will. Every time I get in my car, its a mini vacation. I dont want to lose money if I can avoid it, but to me its been worth every penny.
Cheers. Enjoy the rest of your sunday.

I just noticed you posted you are in Arizona. Where? We have a big group of Mclaren owners (amongst other cars) that we try to get together once in a while for drives and such. Certainly a lot more fun than talking about lost value of the cars.

I bought one of these used 8 years ago and it has done nothing but appreciate.
I bought one of these new a couple months ago and I suspect it has done nothing but depreciate.
I am sure you can figure out which is which.
Anyone's guess what the story will be another 10 years from now. (e.g., https://www.wsj.com/articles/driving...it-11555732810)

Three Wheelin'
Interesting the 3RS is basically only 1 sec faster than the non RS GT3 at Big Willow.
Normally with race cars, we see approx 2 sec improvement with a big wing at Big Willow.
Surprised to see how close the performance is between the two.
