Low oil warning
Gents which oil have you guys been using. My low warning light came on today so either I top it off or bring it in for service. Then since it did come on, how many quarts would I need to use for top off
Thankx

Why not just do a change if you don't know what oil is in the car? Cheap insurance and can't imagine doing an extra oil change wouldn't be worthwhile for peace of mind.

I've always preferred Fuchs and Total Quartz, but a spec is a spec...

I think since I dont know what's in there, I will take it in for service. Like redmonkey said for peace of mind first go round. Appreciate you guys and safe driving.

But regardless, if you don’t know what is in there, when you change the oil, not all of it comes out, so you are definitely mixing oils whether you change or top up.

Careful, don't add more than 1/4 bottle at a time. You'll very quickly crest the "Oil level over max" warning, if you're not careful. These machines are incredibly picky about the oil level being dialed in perfectly.

They top it off because in 2900 miles I'm due for service. He did tell me top off slowly like mentioned above at 1/4 at a time. Thanks everyone. I did go but a bottle of mobile one
