Does this still hold true on the .2 cars since the .2 GT3 has the ram air intakes now? Even though they are up high I don't see where they would differ from the ones on the RS on the side at speed. I thought the extra 20hp would be from factory tuning?

The GT3 and RS engines are 100% identical apart from improved breathing from the air intakes and Hi-flow air filters on the RS.Even the same part number i believe.

My car has a JCR nonsilenced bypass and the GT3 has a Sharkwerks bypass.

I am least surprised by GT3 keeping or even edging the RS. Given the advertised top speeds and HP for the cars - 199mph/500hp and 186mph/520hp (and assuming other losses are same and top speed is not limited by gearing), back of the napkin math tells me, the RS experiences ~27% more drag than the GT3. In other words, the RS would need ~612HP to overcome the additional drag and the have the same top speed as the GT3. So as the speed is increasing the RS is spending proportionately more of it's engine power overcoming drag vs accelerating, compared to the GT3.

On the flip side, the RS makes a massive ~200% more downforce than the GT3.

From a roll it is fastest. There are videos of a manual being faster than an RS from a roll.

Actually the RS Top Speed is rated at 193mph. Where Porsche play games is with downforce numbers, the .2 GT3 numbers are registered at 196mph, while the GT3 RS are registered at 186mph for the 2 configurations.

Downforce difference between the GT3 and GT3 RS is over 300% (GT3 307# at 186mph and GT3RS 992# at the same speed).

The time slip clearly shows the advantage of the RS on power and extra grip off the line, and it matches my results with my .1 and .2 RS at that same drag strip. However, at 127mph, the GT3 is producing 143# of downforce, while the wider RS (front and rear, hence draggy) is producing nearly 500#, so the second 1/8th of a mile is advantage for the GT3, and going forward to 1/2 mile the GT3 will walk away.

From a roll, the real drag star is the Touring. It has a GT3 engine, it is lighter than a GT3, it puts more power to the ground (what really matters), and at the speeds the GT3RS is producing nearly 500# of downforce, the Touring produces around 40# so it is sleek. The Touring could be one of the fastest N/A cars with 6cyl on a 1/2 mile drag, 1 mile drag race. Just don't throw too hard at high speed turns, but it must be fun, too bad it has a disposable diff.

^^^is touring Gt3 lighter than manual winged GT3 or is that statement primarily based on the comparison of manual-to-pdk? Does touring-3 have more or less drag than a winged-3 once it's flap is deployed?

manual vs. pdk, nice weight savings, and more power on the ground, where it matters.

I have no info on drag on the Touring vs. the GT3, only downforce (110# at 199mph for the Touring, 342# at 196mph for the GT3), but top speed for the .2 GT3 is 197mph on PDK, 198mph on manual, and 199mph on Touring (not published, but the speed where Porsche determined total downforce for the Touring). There is a drag difference, but seems to be very small based on top speeds.
