Nizer 04-16-2019 10:54 PM

The RS has more downforce . If you taped up the front and took rear wing off it would go faster on a drag strip

you can say that for both cars but yes I agree neither car is a drag car but it is telling that they are so even.

Looks like GT3 pulled buy a nose. RS aero probably dragging it down a little.....RS faster in the corners though.

Wider body, larger wing, wider tyres all amounting in a significant amount more drag. The GT3 is faster than the RS in the straights on track for sure but the moment you need to slow down / turn as you say the GT3 falls far behind

20hp is a 4% gain on the GT3's 500hp. The power of your engine varies by that much on a day to day basis with temperature, pressure, and humidity. Do you really think 20hp will make one car faster than another? Without that 20hp, all the increased drag on the RS will make the car even slower. The RS is for going around a track and having more mechanical and aero grip, not for drag racing.

On a car with 160hp, 20hp will make a bigger difference.

Right, essentially no difference which is my point. I would love to see back to back dynos for comparison.

I bet it doesnt fall far behind. Same driver, same tires and conditions I bet they are too close to call.

My point is you shouldn't be so surprised by this. As if 20hp, on paper, made you believe the RS was supposed to be faster in a straight line.

Plenty of videos and track tests out there of the GT3RS and GT3 on the same track. The RS is faster in every single one of them. On a shorter track, the spread is smaller (1-2 seconds). On a larger track, like the Nurburgring, the spread is larger (17 seconds).

800 miles on the RS & 3,000 on the GT3

Nice job Ricardo! That's about as definitive as it gets, IMO. Perfect runs by both parties. Launching as identically as just about possible. Both cars look and sound tremendous.

Thanks buddy! Time to bring the touring down here, I think the touring might be the fastest in a straight line.

+1

Owned and tracked both GT3 & 3RS. The RS is a step above on track.

So the additional 20HP does essentially nothing? I wonder if in fact these motors aren't identical.

The 20 horses are gained from air dam effect not available at lower speed. A difference should not be expected in a drag race.
