Re: the GT3 is slow...
As a reference I like to compare times from what we do in our SRF race cars to what pros do on the same track with street cars- guys like Randy Pobst will generally be 2 seconds quicker on a two mile track a lap with the 991.2 GT3, than the best SRF drivers. Since we just had the runoffs at Sonoma and pole was a 1:46.1 theoretical fastest lap in the GT3 is probably 1:44-1:45. But that’s a pro driver- I did a 1:47.8 in qualifying with my SRF (mid pack and I have lots of excuses LOL, the primary one being my good imagination of what hitting the wall is like!). I would think there is a little more to give on the GT3 laptime, but that’s the case with all the cars. It’s all relative!

I really like the format, using the same amateur driver on the same day and explaining the feel of the cars through a lap. How an amateur responds to the driving feel is way more relative to us than a pro man handling a car’s weakness. Really enjoyable to watch!

Thanks Montoya! Yeah I think the hardest part is that CJ literally jumps in the car and gives it 2-3 laps warmup.. has 4-5 laps for a best time (there's traffic too).. and then 1-2 cool downs. And that's it. So really, he doesn't have multiple sessions and since he never tracks with just one car - he drives so many cars - he doesn't get much familiarity which actually normalizes it out a little bit.

Doc and I are on whatsapp and the next test will include a raptor and a Bac Mono amongst others. Trying for a 2 day super test. We need some instructions to get the best in car sound - which equipment etc so if anyone has suggestions let us know.

I've mounted my external mic inside the rear bumper, above the rear license plate, and behind the rear license plate. All of these locations sound good.

Thanks. It's a combo of Sony action cams merged with data from an aim solo 2 DL using race render software. Steep learning curve, but once you do it, very quick to put together and gives the best results. I'm not impressed with any of the 'all in one' options out there.

Thank you, sir! It’s that steep learning curve that’s scary. I’ve been told I’m smart, but lazy. Haha. Guess I need to suck it up someday and figure it out. I had a friend overlay some of my old ZR1 videos with Solo DL data and it looked great . It was easier to buy him lunch a few times than figure it out.

Whatever you use for mics, you gotta make sure you adjust the gain/sensitivity properly or you're gonna get an insane amount of clipping.
