Default Houston Area Drives

Anyone in the Houston area have a good drving route to recomend? Ideally something that can be a 2hr or less round trip. Not trying to break any world records on public roads but something with some actual curves, that has been repaved in the last decade and no traffic jam would be nice. Starting to think Houston might be the worst place in the U.S. to have a car obsession. Someone please tell me I am wrong.

Much appreciated guys. I recently joined PCA, usually make it out to the 1st saturday meets downtown. Dont have FB but sure I can find a way to figure it out. Will probably be out this Saturday staring at all the air cooled cars trying to figure out how to inception the wife into an 80’s whale tail.

Hill country is your best bet, but even those roads aren't amazing. Houston is a wasteland in terms of twisty roads for cars or motos.

Wimberly...the eastern part of Hill Country is approx. 2.5 hours each way from the center of Houston. The western part of Hill Country (Leakey) is approx 4.5 hours each way. Hill Country is pretty big and would suggest exploring different regions for multiple fun weekend getaways. Now through mid-April is best when flowers are in bloom. T

I disagree because my crew and I as always hit up the country all the time.
PV, chapel hill, belleville Fayetteville, backroads from hwy 6 towards the nat forest are all good curvy fun. Plenty to drive on close to here. Then yes up towards the 3 sisters. I even take all back roads to our bbq spots to blacks bbq or up to driftwood to saltlick bbq. As ll great fun.

I am actually from Dallas. Use to feel the same way... Hopeful Houston has access to more windy country road than Dallas but in the city Houston is worse. Inner loop road quality is war zone grade. G-wagons driven to the grocery store by house wives are put to good use here. I avoid 50% of the city purely because I cant stand the roads regardless of what car Im driving.
