Default Very recent 2015 GT3 Trade in values to a Porsche dealer

Anyone recently trade in their under 15k miles 2015 GT3 to a Porsche dealer for a 16 CPO RS? Do you feel you received a fair offer vs going the eBay route?

There are multiple factors when it comes to a "trade"....honestly for me the trade number is meaningless.....it's the delta to the car that you want....lots of factors....price of new car?....motivation of the dealer?....

The dealer could throw any number at you but in reality the only number that matters is what it costs to get into the new one....comparing your trade to others might give you a ballpark but that's about it....your car is likely going to sell from the dealer in the $120's....they need to make money....I'm gonna guess a trade of $100K give or take some....

I made the same trade a couple of years ago and will say don't get caught up on a few grand....the RS is that much more fun....

Yes makes sense. Tried getting a number on blue book, but they won’t provide numbers on GT3. Was hoping to get a feel from others as I like to know what the value is prior to negotiation on the next car. Prices on eBay are meaningless to me as we can’t know true sales price.

Best thing to do is get a starting point from the dealer and always remember they want to sell the car more than you want to buy it......

Beware some dealers want to make what I think is crazy money on used cars, case in point my local is asking 30k over what they gave on a GT4 .

That's not a crazy ask....it's mind games to "discount" it $15K and still make a bundle....

Also I'm sure you're very aware that there are literally hundreds of 16 RS's for sale so you should shop around. I can't believe the price dealers are still asking for them - over msrp on a three year old car!!!

I think you will get about $100k for your car on trade. I have a friend that just bought a 991.1 GT3 with 14k miles from a dealer for $117k. I think you will get a GT3RS for around 160-170k. So plan on $60-70k trade difference.

Another significant factor is whether your state taxes on the whole purchase, just the trade difference or neither (if there's such a state). TN is a trade difference state so it generally makes sense just to trade the car to the dealer rather than private sale.

^Yup.

And to the OP- keep in mind many Porsche dealers will even lowball you lower than Manheim results or wholesale MMR estimates.... that's why the 100k like joejeni stated wouldn't be surprising.
