the colored stripe was expensive because the wheel had to be removed and restitched and reinstalled was the explanation given to me at the factory, but I agree it does seem overly expensive

OK, great tip, I need some but too cheap to buy a whole roll, who can give me a foot or two of the red tape???

Had the red tape on my car for 4 months now, it's staying on very good. So doesn't look like I need to replace the tape too often.

Yeah the color will stay on the tape, the only problem you will eventually have is just like a leather or alcantara wheel. it will get dirty
