I think there are a lot of dealers that have more inventory than they are advertising because if they showed how many GT cars they had in inventory buyers would smell blood in the water. I wouldn't even be paying MSRP for a used car unless it was a lower MSRP near delivery mile car.

Dealers have deep pockets and know how to make a buck.

A lot if well to do folks that can afford these cars.

Lets see how they move from now now till fall.

Most Pcar dealers are now the enemy IMO when it comes to GT allocations. Playing hide the ball to squeeze those ADMs!

So how does the conversation go?

Punter: I want to buy a GT3

Dealer: they’re so rare we charge ADM

Punter: but you have like 20 of them

While they are at it why not just start charging ADMs on all 911 variants?

up here in Canada the dealers have secret underground storage facilities where they hide their cars.
Imagine what could happen to the market for these cars if stock market crashes.

Market change is coming, and there are maybe 5-10x too many sports cars at all prices being produced. It's about to get a little nasty for new car sales.. how many gt3 buyers will be frothing at the mouth for an incremental improvement to 992 gt3... when they have to be willing to sell their 991.2 for 120k or less? The only good thing is that they will start getting used a lot again.. the low mileage stuff will get purchased at a price where it will good to drive the b@lls off of them.. maybe even "daily".

Oh, the strategic national supply paradigm

I haven't met a GT3 owner that hasn't been on a track with their 991.2. But I do live in the NorCal bubble.

Wait, there's a track at Thunderhill? I've always just gone for the burgers. Is that what all the noise is from???

The way stealerships behave reminds me of diamonds and DeBeers.

Interesting piece, I couldn't help but see a lot of parallels:

Willows aka Thunderhill = Great kite boarding
Sonoma/Sears Point = Great for wine
Laguna Seca = Great for golf at Pebble Beach

Have no idea why anybody would take their GT3 to any of these locations.
