The market is going through a correction and prices are simply becoming more realistic. Those that bought into the hype and excitement will claim the market is collapsing but that’s just not the case.

The recent Amelia Island auction is a good indication of what’s happening. Selling prices were all above MSRP but far below their estimated values.

This is a good time to be a buyer.

There is an unprecedented GT3 glut. Soon to be exacerbated by the release of the 992 GT3 which will produced in much higher volumes. Just wait until the 10 year warranty expires...

This makes car #3 I know that sold for this price point or lower.
My thinking as well. 991.1 GT3s are rapidly becoming one of the best values in the Porsche GT world, especially when you factor in the 10 year engine warranty.

Factor out the finite warranty and it becomes the worst...991.2 GT3 will be the sought after one with it's Jesus motor. Nobody is going to toy with a $80k+ grenade

I do believe Porsche dealers will not be doing same adm games on the 992 gt3. Every garage that wants a gt3 has one now, sometimes three of them. To take in a 992 gt3 into the "collection" means some 991 gt3 will have to get displaced... the drain is clogged now.

I will be dumping my 991.1 GT3 once the 992 GT3 is available. However, I believe Porsche made far less .1 GT3’s compared to .2 GT3’s. Most .1’s are also poorly optioned so if you have a .1 that is sub 15k miles with all of the big options (PCCB, FAL, PDLS) and full leather interior, you will probably still get 100k+ for it for the foreseeable future.

All depends on the economy. If it is strong, there will be strong demand for both new 992s and used 991s, and they will be priced accordingly. If it isn't, Porsche will likely scale back production. Add in the inevitable hype that the 992 will be the last N/A Porsche motor, and I don't see anything changing much next time 'round...

And, no, every garage that wants a GT3 does NOT have one. Some of us refused to play dealer games and won't spend $200k on a car with crap options.

We shall see. Not paying an extra $40-50k for nearly the same car in a .2 is a gamble I didn't mind taking. But to each his own I suppose.

If you don't think a finger follower fix will be in place come 2024 then I don't know what to tell you. Hell, Dundon was well on their way to having a fix finished prior to the warranty announcement. There will certainly be a market to pull it off the shelf. Couple that with a changing landscape of turbo/hybrid cars come 2025, there's always going to be a place for high revving NA p-cars.

You seriously think the motor is going to "grenade" all of a sudden after 10 years or 120K miles? I'm not going to lose any sleep between now and 2025 and I doubt I'll worry about it then with the tracking / driving I plan to do. The "Jesus" motor, as you call it, is in the 2015 .1 with 107K miles that Monterey Porsche recently sold.
