Are you suggesting that a range 4 over rev is possible without an errant downshift? Otherwise a driver would have to have superhuman reflexes to recognize an errant downshift and correct the error in a tiny fraction of a millisecond. I know that range 1 and 2 over revs are likely when the rev limiter engages, but I have never encountered an incidence of range 4 because of rev limiter engagement.

If an over-rev range says 6 ignitions, that's 2 cycles of the engine right?

I tried to get a DME report for my GT3 but the technician couldn't figure out where to find the over rev info. I didn't go to the dealer; just a Porsche service shop. The computer recognized my car and everything and showed different menus but he couldn't figure out where to get the info. Does anybody know the exact menu or area we have to go to pull up the over rev info?
