Concerned about sunlight?
 

I know I'll get a few of the "it's just a car", "get out and drive" etc. responses but serious question for the more OCD folks on the board:

I have a garage that lets in some outdoor light from windows and a patio door. It's not direct, there's an overhang and fence but a fair amount of ambient light still gets in. I recently added some cheap shades to the window but they more or less just diffuse the light (filter, doesn't block like a blackout shade).

There's an easy solution: just get a car cover but honestly I'm not the biggest fan of car covers. Would anyone be concerned with the amount of light coming through, either from a paint perspective or from prematurely aging the ppf? Or am I just being overdramatic and should leave it alone.

Diffused sunlight should not cause any issues. It's really the prolonged exposure to direct sunlight that affects interiors (particularly older dashboards). You could also apply window tint to the windshield to get the benefit of UV blocking if you're really worried about. Or you could just get some black out shades.

The glass in the windows and doors filters the damaging UV light - no problem. This is why you cannot get a tan inside your house or car with the windows closed...

I find window privacy film a great solution. It still lets light through, but no direct sunlight. Looks better than shades.

Privacy film is great. I had it place on the windows around my office building. It provides mild tint, and looks like a mirror from the outside. Saves a little bit on cooling bill, too.

Of course you're not being overdramatic.

Now don't forget to also protect the paint from the devastating affects of moonlight.

Looks like I'll have to call Ceramic Pro to see if Im protected against moonlight...

Buy a few square feet of limo tint for the windows. Remove whenever.

I'd be more worried about sunburn than sun on my car. So manny things to worry about, but this is nonsense. Enjoy car without a heart attack

You can always buy window film that has a UV filter.

Yes, I'm very worried about sunburn from the copious hours I stand in front of my window and patio door. Hopefully I'll find a solution that solves both.
